Dr.
Walrath specializes in Spider and Varicose vein treatments with
outpatient service.
Dr. Walrath is a board-certified general surgeon who has been
in surgical practice for over 30 years. He is a Fellow with
the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate with the National
Board of Medical Examiners. He has performed a wide variety
of vascular, chest, laproscopic and endoscopic procedures.
After graduating with his M.D. from the New Jersey College of Medicine
by the age of 24 he did a surgical internship. He served as a Chief of
Aeromedical Services Flight Surgeon with the Air Force and served with
a B52 squadron during the Vietnam War. He then completed four more years
of residency in General Surgery at Cornell’s North Shore Hospital,
which was recently rated best hospital in the United States.
During his 28 years in private practice, he has held many positions including
Chief of Surgery at Auburn Memorial Hospital, President of the Cayuga
County Medical Society, President of the Board of Health, County Legislator
and Director of The Willard Drug Treatment Center.
Dr. Walrath brings decades of clinical experience to his new practice
dedicated exclusively to the treatment of venous disease. He uses the
latest laser technology in the treatment of varicose and spider veins,
and all procedures are performed in-office with minimal down-time.
